Marriott International has added 20 international Marriott Hotels to its Marriott Mobile App check-in program. The hotels are in 19 countries in the U.K., Mexico, United Arab Emirates and India.
The program originally kicked off at 329 hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Marriott said it plans to have the mobile check-in program in place at all of its 500 Marriott Hotels by the first half of next year. It will also add mobile check out next year.
The app is available to Marriott Rewards members, who can download it through a smartphone. They can check at 4 p.m. the day prior to arrival. When they get to the hotel, guests proceed to the mobile check-in desk for their card keys.
"As Marriott developed the app and tested mobile check-in, we engaged customers, asking for their feedback to perfect the experience and learn what mattered most to them," said Paul Cahill, senior vice president of brand management for Marriott Hotels in a statement.
Marriott Hotels is testing mobile enhancements at what at what it calls 12 U.S. "incubator" hotels.
