The newly-opened JW Marriott St. Maarten Beach Resort & Spa marks the first Marriott International luxury hotel in St. Maarten.
Located on the Dutch Caribbean island country's glorious Dawn Beach about 30 minutes from Princess Juliana Airport, the 200-room property seeks to pay homage to the island's rich Dutch architectural heritage but offers guests plenty of natural views too, including the sparkling sea and St. Barths to the southeast.
The resort will also appeal to the growing number of wellness travelers.
Upon arrival, guests will notice the grand lobby equipped with a library, lounge and a JW Bar as well as an inviting courtyard garden. The resort's rooms and suites were designed by Cauhaus Design and are "infused with rich tones, natural wood finishes, handcrafted tile accents, and elegant cove lighting alongside best-in-class entertainment systems," according to Marriott.
Guests have four dining venues to choose from, including Liguria and Carambola. The former offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu utilizing fresh vegetables, seafood, citrus, grains and herbs to craft dishes such as the pastry chef's house-baked Focaccia. Diners can pair their meals with wines from all across Europe. For a laid-back breakfast, lunch or dinner, there's Carambola, which takes fresh ingredients from the JW Garden to make delectable items like the housemade kimchi.
The Lobby Bar and Breeze (at the pool) also serve up handcrafted cocktails and exclusive drinks.

Additional highlights include a fully equipped fitness room, the Hibiscus Spa—featuring 16 tranquil treatments designed to "evoke peace and repose"—and 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
