Finding a hotel room in New York City is about to get much easier.
The destination's official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, NYC & Company announced Thursday that the Big Apple is home to the nation's most active hotel development pipeline.
New York is on track to add over 25,000 more hotel rooms to its inventory over the next two years.
"New York City expects 139,000 total rooms in our inventory by the end of 2019 based on the current robust pipeline," said NYC & Company President and CEO, Fred Dixon in a statement. "Our five-borough destination continues to attract new and return visitors, from business and meetings delegates to leisure travelers seeking authentic, live-like-a-local experiences to 'bleisure' travelers who combine both."
The coming attractions to New York's diverse hotel scene will include both brand new and renovated properties.
Meeting, convention and event space will continue to expand throughout the city while hoteliers will also work to make staying near one of the city's Big Three airports more convenient and comfortable than ever before. After all, the TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport is easily one of the city's most anticipated projects.
The same goes for sports fans visiting New York. Two new properties have already opened up near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, and a Fairfield by Marriott hotel is scheduled to open outside of the Mets' Citi Field this month.
A number of new hotels will also aim to immerse guests in the local culture, whether it's through art or food and beverage.
The recently opened Moxy Times Square boasts the largest indoor/outdoor hotel rooftop lounge in New York and features unique amenities like mini golf and a carousel. Meanwhile, the Four Seasons New York Downtown houses the city's first Wolfgang Puck restaurant.
What's more, The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel recently debuted a pair of luxe penthouse suites as luxury hotel bookings continue to climb.
Of the five boroughs, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn will supply a vast majority of the city's coming hotel development, with the three accounting for 134 of the 145 hotels in the 2017 pipeline and beyond.
Manhattan alone accounts for nearly 16,500 of the 25,000-plus rooms in New York's current pipeline.
