Venture further into the natural environment by joining an eco-tour, which gives you the opportunity to get an up-close look at the nearby jungles and rain forests, where you can interact with all sorts of exotic wildlife including spider monkeys, peacocks and macaws. You can also visit the local bird sanctuary, turtle lagoon, or ride around the bike path that travels through nearby jungle regions.
Even while inside the resort, you will be doing your part in "going green" because the property has a strong commitment to earth-friendly programs. Recycling is a major priority, as it conservation of natural resources.
Protecting the earth and respecting Mother Nature is an important priority in local culture, and area natives take it very seriously. When the resort was initially being constructed, the building team reportedly followed ancient Mayan tradition and asked permission from the mythical Aluxes (nature spirits) to build in that area. Further following tradition, the resort later built tiny houses onsite to serve as a home for the Aluxes-homes that still remain on the property, and can be viewed by guests and visitors.
Of course, there are also plenty of other exciting things to do while staying at the resort. You can enjoy some pampering at Spa Sandos, join the whole family for fun at the Aqua Park, or take a dip in one of the four pools onsite.
