A college or university's reputation is typically built on the quality of its academic or sports programs. But rarely is a school judged by its hotel scene. Nonetheless, just in time for the spring semester College Rank has revealed its list of the 50 best college campus hotels in the U.S.
In order to separate the contenders from the pretenders, officials at College Rank sifted through ratings from AAA, Forbes Travel Guide and TripAdvisor and also took into consideration properties' amenities, proximity to the school and involvment in university culture.
So in addition to excelling in hospitality, all of the 50 hotels "embrace university culture," according to author Katie Young. Several states and cities made the list more than once, but overall the country is well represented, with colleges big and small making the cut.
