Two new hotels, representing a total investment of $100 million, are set to open in Tulum in 2021
The company behind the upcoming properties is Grupo Posadas, which already operates 12 hotels in the Quintana Roo region, in such popular locations as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and more.
Throughout southeastern Mexico, Grupo Posadas has 24 hotels, which amounts to more than 4,500 rooms.
The two latest additions to its portfolio will be a 340-room Live Aqua Beach Resort Tulkal and a new Fiesta Americana All Inclusive Tulkal, that will offer 515 rooms, according to Riviera Maya News.
"Posadas considers the Mexican Caribbean a very important multi-destination to continue with its growth and consolidation plans in the coming years due to its incomparable natural beauty and the attractive tourist services it offers for all kinds of visitors," Mauricio Carreon Lavalle, commercial director for vacation properties of Posadas, told Riviera Maya News.
The upcoming properties will be about 68 miles from Cancun.
The Live Aqua Beach Resort Tulkal hotel is being designed with a focus on luxury and will aim to attract guests who prefer art, design, and sophistication, Carreon Lavalle said. The Fiesta American property meanwhile, will be a five-star property featuring Mexican hospitality and warmth.
