The travel world is buzzing about the 2018 Travvy Awards, but there are other shows taking place during award season, including the Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Awards.
The fifth annual Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Awards highlights the very best boutique hotels around the world that set the benchmark for style, service and sexiness.
This year's event will also feature a new category, Best Smith Villa.
The public will decide the top prize in the Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Awards, the Best Smith Hotel 2018, with voting taking place during October. The winners for the remaining 11 categories will be decided by an all-star panel of judges.
The panel of expert judges includes Mr & Mrs Smith founders James and Tamara Lohan, photography influencer Lucy Laucht, New Potato Founders Danielle and Laura Kosann, Mister Spoils founder Max Samis and many more.
"Over the last 15 years, Mr & Mrs Smith has expanded from a publisher of boutique guidebooks to an international travel club for hotel lovers, with a 1,000-strong collection around the world. What better way to celebrate this evolution than our annual Mr & Mrs Smith Awards?" Mr & Mrs Smith co-founder James Lohan said in a statement.
"The boutique hotel industry has never been in better shape, with a year of exciting new openings. The big one - Best Smith Hotel 2018 - is determined by our ever-discerning Smith public, who help set the agenda for the year ahead. And to mark our anniversary, we're excited to announce a new accolade, Best Smith Villa, which highlights home-away-from-home stays with hotel-like style and substance."

The 12 categories highlight the experiences most important to travelers, including the designs, bars and spas that make guests feel truly at home. The categories include World's Sexiest Bedroom, Best-Dressed Hotel, Best Date-Night Bar, Local Hotel Hero, Best Family Hotel, Best Smith Villa, Best Smith Hotel 2018 and more.

Voting is now open, but it closes October 31. Though results will be officially announced January 18, 2018, there is a sneak-preview press party in London on January 17, 2018.
