Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 hotel brands has announced the redesign of the W
Maldives.
The renovation blends contemporary luxury with the island’s
untamed beauty offering a distinctive merge of authentic cultural experiences,
creative design and a deep connection to the enchanting spirit of the Maldives.
“We are not simply unveiling a completely renovated resort;
we are redefining our signature, liberated approach to destination-driven
luxury with this newly reimagined hotel,” said George Fleck, Senior Vice
President and Global Brand Leader, W Hotels.

travelers and locals alike, offering meaningful experiences and a deep dive
into the cultural richness of these islands. We’ve created a haven that
reflects the dynamic energy of this world-class, coveted destination while
setting a new standard for W Hotels Escapes globally.”
Guests arrive by seaplane and greeted by the escape’s
signature Arrival Jetty with a hidden bar before arriving at the signature
Living Room open air-sanctuary.
Miaja Design group reimagined 77 villas into stylish
hideaways inspired by the Maldives’ marine life and lush flora. Overwater
villas balance tranquility and adventure and for larger groups, the first-ever
Supreme Overwater Two-Bedroom Villas and Oasis Overwater Two-Bedroom Villas
offer expansive living spaces and private pools. Two Oasis Two-Bedroom Beach
Villas feature exhilarating water slides connecting the second floor to an
impressive private pool.
Dining at the resort includes FISH, the signature fine
dining restaurant where guests indulge in a sustainable ocean-to-table concept
set above the serene Indian Ocean. Relaxed beachside smokehouse, FIRE offers grilled
dishes framed by the tranquil coastal surroundings, while KITCHEN, the all-day
dining venue, includes a daily breakfast spread and international favorites.
Throughout the year, W Maldives will host exclusive pop-ups, featuring
world-renowned chefs.
Bars include overwater Latin
American inspired SIP with an array of Nikkei dishes and spectacular
sunsets and WET Deck, with signature cocktails, light bites and vibrant nighttime
music.
The Splinterworks Vertex water slide features sleek,
mirror-polished steel with built in water jets. AWAY Spa offers a collection of
curated treatments with four overwater couples’ rooms offering ocean views, and
each equipped with a steam facility.
W Maldives’ award-winning reef offers unparalleled snorkeling
and diving experiences, and beyond the reef, guests can set sail to
Gaathafushi, the resort’s secluded private island for an intimate castaway
experience under the stars.
New programs include Dare to Taste, a seasonal culinary journey
celebrating local flavors in collaboration with acclaimed global chefs and Rise
and Energize, a year-round array of fitness and wellness activities.
Sustainability is forefront with the resort’s eco-friendly
materials and sustainable practices, along with a flourishing fruit and
vegetable garden and home to one of the largest biogas plants in the Maldives.
