YOTEL Washington DC is the first US hotel to receive an Autism Friendly designation from Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism organization, the hotel group said.
“The front office team at YOTEL Washington DC has completed specialized training to better understand and meet the needs of guests on the autism spectrum, ensuring a comfortable and seamless stay,” YOTEL said.
“The property also features thoughtfully designed quiet areas and specialized lighting in guest rooms, creating a sensory-friendly environment for individuals on the spectrum,” the company added.
Furthermore, the hotel’s proximity to the US Capitol and Union Station makes it a convenient base for exploring the city.
“This designation represents more than a certification – it’s a commitment to hospitality without barriers,” said Matt Sommers, YOTEL Washington DC’s general manager.
Added Patricia Hood, associate director of sales: “We are proud to set a national standard and create a space where every guest feels seen, valued and supported.”
Based in London, YOTEL’s international portfolio includes 23 hotels under three brands: YOTEL, for city stays; YOTELPAD, for extended stays; and YOTELAIR, for airport stays.
