An iconic Las Vegas hotel sustained $100,000 in damage when a fire broke out Monday.
The Associated Press reported the fire began at Caesars Palace around 3:30 a.m. local time Monday, spreading from an escalator to a ballroom and prompting brief evacuations.
Three hotel workers were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, while 140 hotel rooms were evacuated for roughly two hours, Caesars Entertainment Corp. spokeswoman Jennifer Forkish told the AP.
No hotel guests were injured as a result of the fire.
The Clark County Fire Department put out the fire after about 25 minutes and operations at the hotel and casino have returned to normal.
The cause of the fire remains unknown but is under investigation.
While at least one guest was critical of the hotel for a lack of communication, Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan told the AP that there is no standard procedure on how hotels should communicate with guests who are unaffected.
The fire at Caesars Palace came three days after a fire broke out at the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino on the Vegas Strip.
