Like every April 1st, consumers as well as travel professionals have to be wary about big new announcements that seem ... hard to believe.
Plenty of companies are getting the last laugh with their April Fool’s jokes, which range from the silly to the ridiculous. Here’s a roundup of the Travel Pulse editorial staff’s favorite releases thus far in 2026:
G Adventures
As a counterpoint to this company’s normally cultural immersive trips, G Adventures announced on its social media channels that it’s launching a series of Mall Group Adventures, including, “boutique strip malls, double-story shopping centers, and expansive mega-malls.” Additionally, travelers will participate in an early morning power walk with a local group of senior citizens, “learning traditional storytelling techniques featuring exceptional grandchildren and unexceptional sons-in-law.”
Miami
Miami took to Instagram to prank us all at the cross walk. Just imagine it, you're walking around the vibrant city of Miami and ready to cross the street...when all the sudden you hear latin music. Do you dance? Do you walk? Sadly, it will just stay our imagination. But this one we'd be ok with being true.
WestJet
Canadian airline WestJet released a video explaining its new “no bare feet” policy, including blurred out toes and a catchy tune about bare feet on airplanes. “We’ve all seen it: bare feet where they shouldn’t be. And we’re taking action,” mocked the airline.
SWISS
This European airline said in a release that it was launching “Fit all the way,” a new optional service for long-haul flights. It said that selected seats would be equipped with integrated pedal systems, “allowing passengers to stay active during the flight. With this initiative, SWISS responds to the growing demand for more movement and well-being while traveling.”
Dublin Airport
The Irish airport posted on its X account that a new curvy slide had been integrated into one of the multilevel parking garages there. Dubbed Park & Slide, this brand new way to start a trip is said to “enable passengers to park at rooftop level in Terminal 1 and access departures via a direct slide system, reducing transfer time while offering a seamless, hands free experience with integrated bag drop support.”
Frontier Airlines
The low-cost carrier boasted on its Instagram account that (in joking about United’s recently launched sleeper rows) it was now launching entire planes equipped with bean bag chairs and bunk beds.
Eurowings
German airline Eurowings said in a news release that weddings on board are now a thing! “What has long been possible on cruise ships at sea is now taking to the skies,” said the release, noting that it was only for flights of at least 2 hours in duration. “Eurowings allows couples to exchange vows officially above the clouds during a flight. Those wishing to take part in this unique service must register in advance. Marriage applications should be submitted approximately eight weeks before the desired flight date to allow operational planning and crew scheduling.”
