Many people have off from work or school for Presidents Day, but those traveling Monday in the Southeast and throughout the Northeast will be forced to deal with Winter Storm Olympia.

The storm spent the weekend dumping snow and rain on the Midwest, but now looks to make its way up the East Coast over the next two days. In response, the National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories, winter storm warnings, winter storm watches and freezing rain advisories from Maine to northeast Georgia, according to Weather.com.

While the snow storm is expected to change to rain as it makes its way up the I-95 corridor - good news for those driving in the region - the cold air coming in from Canada mixing with a low pressure system moving from the South could cause a more unpredictable weather pattern.

As for those travelers trying to fly to their destinations, FlightAware.com is reporting more than 735 flights have been canceled nationwide as of 9:40 a.m. ET. Facilities like Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Baltimore-Washington International Airport are seeing the most cancellations.

While most areas along the East Coast should only expect small amounts of snow, the areas that will deal with the most accumulation from Winter Storm Olympia include the Appalachians, northwest Pennsylvania, western New York and parts of northern New England.

The storm is expected to run its course by Wednesday morning.
