Celestyal Cruises has announced that Kyriakos Anastassiadis will conclude his term as CEO of the company on June 30, 2018. Anastassiadis is credited with repositioning the line and strengthening its brand internationally.
A strong advocate of the cruise industry, Anastassiadis has served as chair of CLIA Europe since 2016.
Newly-appointed to the CEO role is Chris Theophilides. He brings more than a decade of cruise industry experience to the position. Theophilides has served as chief operating officer of Celestyal Cruises since January 2017. Prior to that, he was vice president of strategy and business development.
Theophilides holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Rutgers University. He earned a Master's degree in business administration from Rutgers, as well. From 1998 to 2006, Theophilides served as senior manager, corporate finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a certified public accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Based in Greece, Celestyal Cruises operates four mid-sized vessels in the Greek Islands and the Eastern Mediterranean. It focuses on cultural immersion, with itineraries that highlight iconic sites of great historic interest. Port of call include Mykonos, Santorini, Heraklion, Rhodes and Piraeus in Greece and Kusadasi,Turkey. The line also visits Alexandria and Port Said in Egypt; Ashdod, Israel and Limassol, Cyprus.
The line is currently offering 20 percent commission on seven-day cruise bookings made through June 30, 2018.
