Unless you are an important dignitary or head of state, chances are great you haven't actually taken a tour of the White House with the president.
Now, you can.
Thanks to Facebook 360-degree video, Oculus VR headsets and Felix & Paul, you can walk around the White House as if you were Josh Lyman or C.J. Cregg.
Those who have a virtual reality headset will get a far more immersive experience, getting something akin to actually traipsing through a historic place with President Obama acting as guide.
For the rest of us, we get what is still a very cool 360-degree video to enjoy.
The president offers a perfect welcome address before you enter the confines of perhaps the country's most iconic home: "This house belongs to you, and to every American. For eight years, just a short chapter in the long story of our democracy, my family also had the privilege of calling the White House home."

In just about eight minutes we see some of the more-renowned portions of the White House, including the Oval Office and Situation Room.
Rarely do we get to see the very place where so many important decisions take place. But here we are, in front of our phone or laptop, taking it all in. We encourage you to stick around, because the tour concludes with the First Lady's take on some amazing rooms.
The Verge explains that this is just one part of a much larger video experience awaiting those with Oculus VR headsets. The report explains that this video, "The People's House," will ultimately run about 20 minutes. It's that version that will release sometime this year, "along with a 3D version meant specifically for VR."
We can't actually walk around this place swiftly as we converse at a manic pace as if we were on "The West Wing." But thanks to technology we are nearly there.
