CIE Tours is one of the world's oldest tour operators, and one of the most reliable authorities on travel to Ireland and Britain. CIE Tours has made its brand practically synonymous with Ireland; as well it should be, as it is backed by the Irish government.
CIE was founded in 1932 by the Irish National Transport company, which is in Gaelic "Coras Impair Eireann" or CIE. CIE is the Irish government's department of transportation and CIE Tours is the entity in charge of managing inbound travel to Ireland.

"One big thing that distinguishes CIE from many others is that we believe that a client working with a travel agent should pay one price to the agent for the tour and that price should include everything person wants to do on vacation," says Brian Stack, CIE's CEO. "There should be nothing extra on the tour. With some tour companies you have to buy optional things, the courier's income relies on them, they are paid on commission for how many of these extras they sell. Our couriers have nothing to sell. Everything is included and is commissionable. We make tours all-inclusive with a full breakfast every day and dinner every evening."
