Perillo Tours has a new virtual reality arm of its tour company.
Perillo TravelVR is the brainchild of Steve Perillo, CEO of Perillo, and president John C. Graham. The effort capitalizes on the company's previous successful marketing campaigns and experience and the company offers on-location, 360-degree video production, from storyboard to final editing, including music and narration.
"Virtual reality is a great new way to excite clients about travel destinations," said Graham. "VR is a natural progression on [our] success. It is going to change the way travel is viewed now, and in the future."
The first virtual reality video has already launched, featuring Rome, Florence and Venice, and more are on the way with plans to feature cruise lines, tourist boards, airlines and tour operators.
"Now accessible on multiple viewing devices, including smartphones, tablets, desktop computers and VR headsets, VR is becoming a mainstream medium," said Perillo. "At the same time, VR production has become much more cost-effective, making it a realistic marketing option for travel companies."
Travel agents can use the videos for inspiration and as a selling tool. Right now, Perillo is offering free branded cardboard VR headsets to agents.
