Travel technology continues to evolve at a dizzying pace.
News headlines from the past year have covered everything from the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) aimed at improving the online booking experience, to smart hotel rooms and Uber's plans to introduce flying taxis. There's no shortage of excitement in the travel technology space, and the future appears limitless.
At the 2018 Travvy Awards, the leaders in travel tech were among those receiving awards in two categories at the Wednesday night ceremony: Best Travel Agent Reservation System and also Best Travel Technology Provider.
VAX VacationAccess was the big winner overall on the technology front.
The company took home the gold in the Best Travel Agent Reservations System category, with the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program taking home silver.
In addition, VAX VacationAccess won the gold for Best Travel Technology Provider. Silver in this category was awarded to CruisePlanners.
