Nothing in the world of travel compares to the freedom and fun of seeing the country in a recreational vehicle and the following 30 destinations are ideal destinations for your next RV road trip.

The Florida Keys

2/31
The Keys have long been the go-to place to "go coastal", with many RVers deciding to stay a lot longer than they originally planned. Make the islands your temporary home at parks like Key Largo Kampground & Marina-right on the water-or Bahia Honda State Park, which is home to spectacular sweeps of sand.

Glacier National Park, Montana

3/31
More and more of us are falling for Montana, and you can't say your RV has officially rolled through Big Sky Country without taking it for a spin on GNP's Going-to-the-Sun road. This beautiful byway shows off all the splendor of Glacier National Park and as far as a base is concerned, you will find plenty of basic options inside the park and scores of fully loaded sites outside like the award-winning West Glacier KOA.

Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia

4/31
In a state full of majestic mountain scenery, Blackwater Falls State Park is among the most magnificent. The namesake cascades are famous for their bewitching shade-all thanks to pine and hemlock tree needles-and are one of West Virginia's most beloved natural landmarks. Park up at the campground inside the park, which is home to over 60 full hookups.

Southern Nevada

5/31
While some travelers head for the highway after a weekend in Vegas, savvy RV owners stick around Southern Nevada. After taking advantage of the fact that many Vegas casinos offer free RV parking, they explore the entire southern section of the Silver State. Highlights include Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Spring Mountains and the other gaming mecca of the Mojave Desert: Laughlin.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Michigan

6/31
These massive mounds of Michigan sand are one of the most gorgeous sights in the Great Lakes and make a great base from which to explore the region. Platte River Campground is located in the national lakeshore itself, and it offers both back-in and pull-through spots and electrical hookups.

Grand Tetons National Park, Wyoming

7/31
As tremendous as they are, the Tetons just don't get talked about enough. Buffalo Valley RV Park is located just outside the entrance of the park, and most sites offer views of the famous Teton mountains themselves.

The Finger Lakes, New York

8/31
The Finger Lakes are the ideal place to appreciate the beauty of Upstate New York. Whether you park up next to a serene lake or watch the waterfalls tumble at Watkins Glen State Park or lovely Letchworth, you will find plenty of well-appointed and RV friendly campgrounds in the region.

Or, for a little bit of everything, stay at the excellent Elk Meadow, home to inspiring views of the Rockies.

The Black Hills, South Dakota

12/31
The Black Hills are known for rolling hills filled with pines and fascinating historical sights. After being mesmerized by Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse monument and a day out in "Old West" Deadwood, set up camp at one of the region's many RV-friendly campgrounds like the sparkling Steel Wheel. Then, head to the nearby Badlands.

Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

Whether at one of the more basic sites inside the park or at a fully-equipped space outside-like The Redwoods- you won't forget your turn gliding underneath these giant trees.

Thousand Islands, New York

15/31
This sensational scattering of islands on the border of the United States and Canada is a summer paradise. Naturally, many of the campgrounds here boast views of the water and that is the case with Swan Bay Resort, which is located directly on the St. Lawrence River and offers an assortment of picturesque pull-ins.

Columbia River Gorge

16/31
Spanning the space between Oregon and Washington, the Columbia River Gorge is one of the Pacific Northwest's most renowned national scenic areas and a watersports hotbed. Bridge RV Park and Campground is a great base as it offers dozens of paves sites with full hookups.

The Grand Canyon, Arizona

18/31
There's simply no place on the planet like the Grand Canyon and the world famous wonder is also welcoming to RVers. For full hookups with paved pull-through sites near the splendor of the South Rim, park at Trailer Village. Seasonally, the natural beauty of the less-crowded North Rim can be experienced at its namesake campground, but be aware that there are no electrical hookups and that the camp caters to smaller RVs.

Dakota Terraces campground is Ridgway's signature camping site and it features electrical hookups and a front row seat to the jutting peaks of this section of the Rocky Mountains.

Indiana Dunes State Park, Indiana

21/31
Sure, Indiana's famous dunes might not be as big as those mountains of sand in Michigan, but they're arguably just as pretty. The Indiana Dunes State Park Campground is less than a mile from the beach and provides full electrical hookups at each and every campsite.

Bar Harbor, Maine

22/31
Surrounded by awe-inspiring Acadia, Bar Harbor is a charming tourist village chock-full of welcoming RV parks. For this precise reason, many RVers decide to park up here, allowing them the chance to partake in a mouthwatering array of Maine seafood specialties.

Death Valley National Park, California

23/31
The dark name may pique your interest, but it's the surprising amount of life in this national park that will have you coming back.
