It's Not Too Late to Plan Your Getaway

Fourth of July is just days away, but that doesn't mean its too late to plan a long holiday weekend getaway. According to Travelzoo there are still deals to be had at hotels in popular destinations around the country - from the nation's capital to the west coast. Here's a look at the last minute possibilities waiting to be snatched up.

Washington D.C.

Visit D.C. over the holiday and stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton NoMA Union Station, where Travelzoo says deals are still available. Prices over July 4 can be found starting at around $122 per night at this property, which is about six miles from Reagan National Airport and 1.5 miles from the Union Station Metro station. The hotel also includes free hot breakfasts and spacious rooms, some with views of the Capitol.

Palm Springs, California

If the heat doesn't bother you, Palm Springs is yet another location where it's still possible to book a holiday retreat. Rooms at The Saguaro Palm Springs can be found starting at about $112 per night over July 4. The hotel is less than a 10-minute drive from Palm Springs International Airport and includes amenities such as an Olympic size pool and an on-site restaurant that serves up authentic Mexican street food. Conde Nast Traveler called The Saguaro one of the city's coolest boutique hotels.

Miami Beach, Florida

Take in the fireworks on the nation's birthday in Miami Beach and while in town stay at the Shelborne South Beach where rooms can be found starting at about $129 per night over the holiday, according to Travelzoo.

Chicago, Illinois

Chicago is known for throwing a memorable Fourth of July bash. And the good news is there are still hotel rooms available for procrastinators. Travelzoo recommends The Kimpton Gray, a luxe boutique hotel near Millennium Park. Rooms at this 4.5-star hotel in the heart of Chicago's Loop can be found for as low as $114 per night over the holiday.

Cincinnati, Ohio

The Queen City is known for its street festivals, sporting events, and outdoor offerings, all of which can be explored over the holiday weekend. Rooms at The Summit, A Dolce Hotel, can be found starting at about $119 per night. The hotel is less than a 20-minute drive from downtown Cincinnati, the Newport Aquarium, Kings Island amusement park and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

Knoxville, Tennessee

What better way to spend the holiday than exploring Knoxville's arts community, unique shops and up and coming restaurants. Fodor's calls the city a "music and theater buffs' mecca." Rooms at The Volunteer Hotel can still be found for about $99 per night, says Travelzoo.

Lake Las Vegas, Nevada

Lake Las Vegas is a retreat about 30 minutes from the Strip. The Mediterranean-themed AAA 4-Diamond Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa is known for its posh guest rooms featuring luxurious beds and marble bathrooms. There's also a droolworthy pool complex and a 30,000-square-foot spa, all of which can help make for a relaxing and memorable July 4 getaway. Rooms are available for about $119 per night.

Phoenix, Arizona

The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort is a legendary property that is said to be the favored address of celebrities when they are in town. Highlights at this Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired property include eight pools (one of which was a favorite of Marilyn Monroe's,) and a 92-foot waterslide. Fourth of July room rates can be found for as low as $119 per night through Travelzoo.

Charleston, South Carolina

The Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel is a historic property that was voted one of the top 10 hotels in Charleston by Conde Nast Traveler readers. The property serves as an ideal base for exploring the shops, restaurants, and sites of the city. Added bonus: the hotel also has a pool. Rooms can be found for about $284 per night over the holiday.

Pasadena, California

Located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, Pasadena's five-star The Langham Huntington hotel is just a short drive from Old Town Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles. The property, with its 23 acres of manicured gardens, has been featured on the silver screen. Guest rooms include free Wi-Fi and bath amenities from the hotel's award-winning spa. Room rates over the July 4 holiday are about $179 per night through Travelzoo.

Ixtapa, Mexico

The resort features golden sandy beaches, an indoor garden, a unique stargazing lounge, and a newly renovated spa.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico
