How IHG's avid hotels is Revolutionizing the Midscale Landscape

Delivering a 'Just Right' Stay

1/6
Operating under the values of fresh, fair and frank, InterContinental Hotels Group's (IHG) avid hotels brand guarantees guests a stay that's "just right." Launched in 2017, the midscale brand has its sights set on disrupting the market by nailing the basics at a fair price. Avid's target guest is what it calls the Principled Everyday Traveler, estimating that there are more than 14 million underserved travelers simply seeking a hotel stay that meets their needs without wrecking their budget.

A Sound Night's Sleep

2/6
For many (including myself), falling asleep and even staying asleep away from home can be a challenge. However, avid guests are provided all of the tools for a restful night's sleep, including a high-quality mattress and linens, the option of firm or soft pillows and blackout roller shades to block the daylight out. The hotel's thoughtful design also reduces noise to help guests sleep through the night.

High-Quality, Grab-and-Go Breakfast

3/6
Each morning, guests have access to complimentary breakfast in the lobby featuring an array of fresh and convenient grab-and-go items from established brand names such as General Mills, belVita, Chobani and more. Hot breakfast sandwiches and egg scramble bowls are also available on rotation. Plus, guests can wake up with premium bean-to-cup coffee.

Cutting-Edge Technology

4/6
The lightning-fast bean-to-cup coffee machine isn't the only technology setting avid hotels apart as guests will also benefit from IHG Connect enhanced Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym offering cardio and strength training equipment. In addition, avid is the first IHG brand to offer casting capabilities allowing guests to stream from their smartphones to the 55-inch TV in their room.

Where to Stay

5/6
Avid has already opened seven locations in four different states, including Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Wisconsin:

-avid hotel Augusta W - Grovetown (Georgia)

-avid hotel Madison - Monona (Wisconsin)

-avid hotel Oklahoma City - Yukon (Oklahoma)

-avid hotel Oklahoma City - Quail Springs (Oklahoma)

-avid hotel Oklahoma City Airport (Oklahoma)

-avid hotel Orlando International Airport (Florida)

-avid hotel Tulsa South - Medical District (Oklahoma)

Many More to Come

6/6
Currently, there are more than 80 avid hotels under construction or with planning approved. What's more, the brand recently broke ground on its first international property in Fresnillo, Mexico. "The strong interest in our newest mainstream brands, as well as the wide variety of sites being considered for development, illustrates the broad appeal that exists for both owners and guests," said Karen Gilbride, Vice President, avid hotels and Atwell Suites, IHG, in a statement. "We look forward to continued partnership and collaboration with owners as we grow these brands and deliver inspiring new hotel experiences for travelers."
