West Coast travelers will soon have a stylish new space to work, relax, and dine before their flight at one of the largest airports in the region.
Alaska Airlines is debuting its new lounge at Portland International Airport (PDX), with a warm Pacific Northwest aesthetic and plenty of room for travelers.
At nearly 14,000 square feet, the new airport lounge will be twice as large as the current Alaska Airlines lounge at PDX, with more than 230 seats ranging from work spaces to inviting recliner chairs.
The new space will feature soaring, wood-paneled ceilings, a wooden mural of Mount Hood created by artist Ben Butler, and panoramic windows that offer views of the airport’s new terminal.
Travelers can cozy up by the lounge’s central fireplace, sip West Coast-inspired cocktails, or order coffee creations from a barista.
The sweeping new lounge is fitting for Alaska Airlines, which is PDX’s largest carrier. The airline continues to grow its presence at the Oregon hub: By fall 2026, the airline plans to offer 50% more seats from Portland than just two years ago.
"Portland guests have chosen Alaska for years and played an important role in our growth in the Pacific Northwest," said Shane Jones, the airline’s senior vice president of fleet, products and guest experience. "This new Lounge is our way of thanking them and a reflection of our growing portfolio of premium guest experiences. We look forward to opening our doors this week and welcoming guests with the signature hospitality and thoughtful touches Alaska is known for."
The new lounge officially opens its doors on June 4.
To receive complimentary access, travelers must have an Alaska Lounge membership, be flying on an eligible first class itinerary with Alaska Airlines, or be a passenger on an eligible itinerary or elite status holder with one of Alaska’s Oneworld or other partner airlines.
