Contrary to what you might have previously thought, a tiny mouse can indeed stop a massive airplane.
BBC.com reports a British Airways flight leaving Heathrow and bound for San Francisco was stalled for four hours when a mouse was spotted.
Our immediate thought was the mouse delayed the flight when it discovered the staff didn't carry its brand of cheese. Upon further reading, we discover airlines are not in the habit of taking off when a mouse is found on the plane.
Unfortunately for the mouse community at large, this means it's very difficult to travel unless you are a stowaway with extremely sneaky talents.
As you can tell, we could go on and on with the image of a mouse packed for a holiday. That's precisely the route some passengers went as well.

British Airways also went with some humor, via BBC: "We know almost everyone wants to fly with us to San Francisco, but on this occasion, there was one very small customer who we had to send back to the gate. Everyone with two legs is now on their way to California, and we are sorry for the delay."
According to the report, another plane was a possibility but a delay of "several" hours would be needed.
In the end, these good-natured passengers managed with just a four-hour pause to their itinerary.
The human contingent left to San Francisco and one disgruntled mouse stayed behind in London. Maybe it can catch a show.
