You don't necessarily have to steal cold hard cash to allegedly pilfer more than $80,000 from a company.
One man apparently did it by taking goods and services.
A Delta Air Lines employee has been accused of stealing from the carrier over a two-year period by handing out $80,561 in airline tickets, ticket vouchers and seating upgrades to friends and family, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Michael White-Duarte, a 51-year old resident of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, was arrested for accessing Delta's computers in his role as an airline employee and printing out the alleged stolen tickets and upgrades.
White-Duarte is accused of issuing complimentary ticket vouchers worth $54,261, airline tickets worth $24,200 and travel upgrade certificates worth $2,100, totaling $80,561, according to the Sun-Sentinel. He was arrested Monday and charged with grand theft, and released Tuesday on $5,000 bail.
