Cruises has unveiled the next evolution of its destination-focused immersion
program.
The ‘Discover What the Locals Know’ program redefines how
guests experience each port of call, living it as a local rather than merely
visiting the destination.
Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises, said in a

On cruises across Azamara's 2026-2027 Mediterranean program from
fall through spring, guests will gain unparalleled access to culturally rich
experiences to include intimate local-led small-group excursions, exclusive
entry to several European film festivals and artisan workshops, immersive
culinary journeys showcasing traditional cuisine, and privileged access to
iconic cities during off-peak hours.
With Azamara's signature late nights and overnights, guests

Highlights of the 'Discover What the Locals Know' cultural
experiences include:
- 7-Night Best of The Mediterranean Cruise includes Florence, Genoa and Marseille and one of Florence's historic cinemas
during Festival dei Popoli.
- 7-Night Best of the Mediterranean Cruise visits Saranda, Catania and Amalfi Coast celebrating composer Vincenzo
Bellini's birthday on November 3rd with a citywide musical tribute, Maratona
Belliniana.
- 9-Night Spain Intensive Cruise includes a
double overnight with stops in Valencia, Cartagena and Seville, joining the
locals at Seville's European Film Festival.
- 8-Night Italy Intensive Cruise travels to
Santa Margarita and visits Portofino, Florence and Porto Santo Stefano, following
locals as they harvest olives in the crisp autumn air, visiting a family-run
frantoio to taste the season's first pressings.
- 7-Night Christmas Cruise includes
Florence, Mahon and Palma to experience the Piazza del Duomo Market in the
heart of Florence, Italy.
