Carnival Cruise Line marked 15 years of offering cruises from Seattle on May 1 with an anniversary party on the Carnival Luminosa ship, marking the start of the 2025 Alaska cruise season.
Carnival welcomed port officials and local leaders to the event and presented a $20,000 check to FareStart, a local nonprofit offering free job training and meals for individuals in need.
Carnival began sailing from the Port of Seattle in 2010 with the Carnival Spirit ship, which continues operating Alaska cruises. The cruise line also expanded to offering round-trip Hawaii sailing from the port and supported the port’s short power capabilities.
The Carnival Luminosa just finished a 28-day trans-Pacific journey, which marked the end of its Australia sailing season. It and the Carnival Spirit will sail to Alaska on week-long cruises.
“Cruising is the best way to see Alaska, with a Carnival cruise being the most fun way to experience the beautiful destination for the more than 100,000 guests who sail with us from the Port of Seattle each summer,” said Christine Duffy, Carnival’s president.
“We’re grateful to celebrate 15 years of unforgettable cruises from Seattle and to honor the incredible partnership we’ve built with this vibrant city,” continued Duffy. “Seattle has been instrumental in helping us grow our Alaska cruise offerings, and we’re proud to support local organizations like FareStart that make such a positive impact in the community.”
