It's good news for Carnival Cruise Line passengers who want more time and more ways to experience Mexico's island of Cozumel. The company has recently expanded its port time in Cozumel on more than 750 voyages. As a result, your Cozumel-craving clients are privy to new options for experiencing and exploring the colorful destination that's located 12 miles from Yucatan Peninsula coastline.
Carnival's Cozumel Plus itineraries offer passengers a menu of new excursions, with many extending beyond the Caribbean island to Mexico's mainland. Complementing nearly 50 existing tours already in place, these newbies include swimming with whale sharks and visiting centuries-old ruins.
Highlighted with a special notation on Carnival's website, Cozumel Plus options are available for passengers cruising on 17 different Carnival ships that offer four- to eight-day voyages from six U.S. homeports along the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico.

To properly launch these itineraries, Carnival is extending a promotion that provides a $25 per person shipboard credit that can be applied toward these new and existing shore excursions. Available on bookings made through April 22, the shipboard credit offer is valid when booking in combination with Carnival's Early Saver rates.

"Our Cozumel Plus itineraries provide our guests with a seemingly endless variety of new ways to explore this fascinating destination."
Duffy adds that while Cozumel Plus offers passengers options to create wonderful vacation memories, it presents travel agent partners an exciting cruise option to market to clients.
With the increased port time, Carnival's shore excursion experts have more flexibility to partner with local tour operators for distinctive adventures designed to fully immerse passengers in Mexico's unique culture. Up to eight hours in duration, Plus tours encompass everything from snorkeling Xel-Ha's turquoise waters to exploring Chichen Itza - one of the Seven Wonders of the World that dates back to 750 A.D.
Among other top Cozumel excursions is Mexico's amazing "secret river," a series of subterranean caverns connected by underground waterways that showcase intriguing natural rock formations. Passengers can also up the adrenaline by open water swimming with gentle whale sharks that tip the scales up to a walloping 47,000 pounds.
Carnival's ships dock at Puerta Maya, the company's three-berth facility featuring an on-site transportation center that engages with eateries, retail shops and boutiques. If your clients want to keep it low key, they can still experience Cozumel's energy at the 50-outlet facility, plus retail and dining options sprinkled throughout the pedestrian-friendly area. However, recommend that they at least venture beyond, since Cozumel is revered for its snorkeling and water sports, fishing excursion, markets and restaurants.
