On Tuesday, Princess Cruises announced its largest Alaskan deployment ever for 2018, with a 15 percent capacity increase and unique itineraries. The new Alaskan voyages are available for purchase on December 1.
In the summer of 2018, there will be seven Princess Cruises' ships sailing to and from Alaska on 130 cruise departures, with more than 75 percent of all voyages sailing to Glacier Bay National Park, departing from Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, B.C. and Anchorage.
Princess Cruises also announced that it would offer over 22 cruisetour options which provide passengers the opportunity to journey into the interior of Alaska, visiting five custom-built Princess Wilderness Lodges.
In addition, the Island Princess ship will feature a full season of calls to Icy Strait Point on every seven-day northbound Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary. Also part of the journeys will be the Cook My Catch program, which allows passengers to eat the fish they catch during Princess fishing excursions.
"Princess continues to build on our long-standing recognition as the best cruise line in Alaska," Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz said in a statement. "There's no better way to see Alaska's glaciers, wildlife and national parks than from the perspective of our spectacular ships, exclusive rail service and Princess-owned wilderness lodges, and we are proud to provide our guests even more opportunities to visit the Great Land in 2018."
Some of the Alaskan programs available between May and September 2018 include the Voyage of the Glaciers and the Inside Passage. As for the Alaska Cruisetours, passengers will be able to choose from programs including the Denali Explorer, On Your Own, Off the Beaten Path, Connoisseur and Heart of the Rockies Plus Rail.
