Princess
Cruises has officially welcomed its newest ship, the stunning Sun
Princess, to North American waters, marking the start of its highly
anticipated Caribbean
season. The 177,882-ton, 4,300-guest vessel arrived in Fort Lauderdale this
week following a successful maiden season in the Mediterranean.
First introduced
in February 2024 as Princess’ most innovative vessel, Sun Princess was
christened in a star-studded ceremony in Barcelona, with actress Hannah
Waddingham serving as its godmother. The ship quickly earned a reputation for
its next-level design, exceptional culinary scene and world-class entertainment.
New for its inaugural Caribbean season, the Sanctuary Collection will debut
aboard Sun Princess, offering the ultimate peaceful luxury experience with exclusive
access to tranquil retreats, premium amenities, opulent accommodations and
all-inclusive indulgences.
Beginning October
14, Sun Princess will be embarking on a series of seven-day Caribbean voyages roundtrip
from Fort Lauderdale, offering both Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries
through April 2025.

Sun Princess is
home to the Princess Arena, the ocean’s most technologically advanced theater
space, which presents awe-inspiring and original productions, including
performances in the round. Guests can also enjoy nighttime stagings of Cirque
Èloize in The Dome, while the Piazza captivates audiences with a retractable
stage and an immersive Champagne Waterfall. Sun Princess is also home to the cruise
line’s largest casino, the dual-decker Lotus Spa and an expanded onboard retail
space hosting over 200 premium brands.
Elevated
Accommodations
The cutting-edge
ship carries a wide variety of accommodation types to meet guest preferences, from
reimagined staterooms and luxurious suites to the exclusive Sanctuary
Collection. The ship also introduces new Cabana Mini-Suites, providing extra private
space for a peaceful outdoor retreat.
Sun Princess is also
the first Princess Cruises vessel to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG),
significantly cutting greenhouse gas emissions and incorporating advanced
energy recovery systems for environmentally conscious cruising.
