In celebration of its 50th year sailing to the beautiful destination, Princess Cruises is planning its largest-ever deployment in Alaska.
The regional introduction of the Royal Princess and 50 percent reduced deposits highlight the summer 2019 season.
"Our upcoming 2019 Alaska season marks our 50th year taking guests to this bucket-list destination, that for most is a life-changing experience offering breathtaking scenery and awe-inspiring moments," said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president, in a press release.
"In 1969, Princess Italia was our first ship to bring 525 passengers to Alaska. In 2019, we will mark another milestone by bringing Royal Princess, our largest ship ever deployed to this region, with more than 3,500 guests."
In total, there will be seven Princess ships deployed on Alaskan cruises, 76 percent of which will visit Glacier Bay National Park. There will also be over 23 cruisetours to choose from for guests extending their vacation to Princess Wilderness Lodges and Denali National Park.
Shoreside adventures will continue onboard with North to Alaska programming. Cook My Catch finishes off special fishing tours as the chef prepares it fresh, and Puppies in the Piazza brings on Alaska sled dogs in Skagway for guest interactions.
New for 2019 is a full season of a treehouse experience at the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge as constructed by Pete Nelson of Animal Planet's "Treehouse Masters." Mountain climbers will also tell stories of their Denali conquering to lodge occupants at the Hudson Theater.
Featured 2019 Alaskan sailings include the following:
-Voyage of the Glaciers: Between Vancouver and Whittier are a pair of glacier-viewing experiences at Glacier Bay National Park and either Hubbard Glacier or College Fjord. Weeklong cruises are available aboard Royal Princess and Golden Princess on Saturdays as well as Coral Princess and Island Princess on Wednesdays.
-Inside Passage Roundtrip Seattle: The signature waterway is featured on seven-day Ruby Princess cruises every Saturday towards Glacier Bay while seven-day Star Princess sailings head for Tracy Arm Fjord on Sundays. Each feature late-night stays in Juneau.
-Inside Passage Roundtrip San Francisco: For those wishing to depart from Northern California, the Grand Princess departs for Alaska on a 10-day journey.
-Inside Passage Roundtrip Los Angeles: Alternatively from Southern California are longer 12-day trips aboard Royal Princess, Ruby Princess and Star Princess.
- Inside Passage Roundtrip Vancouver: Concluding the roundtrip options are four weeklong cruises on Coral Princess, Island Princess and Golden Princess; two four-day samplers on Golden Princess and one final five-day sampler on Island Princess.
For something truly unique, the 14-night Heart of the Rockies Plus Rail cruisetour starts in Calgary including Silverleaf rail service on the Rocky Mountaineer. The land portion is entirely escorted and combines with a weeklong northbound Voyage of the Glaciers sailing. Shoreside accommodations include Fairmont Calgary Palliser Hotel, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Four Seasons Vancouver.
Reservations open on December 14, 2017, but Elite status Princess guests can book one day early. Plus, North America, Asia and Australia passengers benefit from 50 percent reduced deposits on any 2019 Alaska voyage through April 30, 2018.
