Each new year brings a new slate of global travel darlings – places that are generating all of the buzz and drawing the crowds.

For the coming year, Hotels.com already has some intel on which international locations may garner the most interest among busy globetrotters.

After analyzing its data, the booking platform found significant year-over-year search growth for five locations in particular. These stand-out destinations span the globe, from Italy to South Africa and Thailand.

But we’re not talking about the usual headline grabbers in each of these countries like Rome, Cape Town or Bangkok. Instead, Hotels.com has discovered what it has dubbed “hidden hotspots” or emerging destinations that travelers will want to put on their radar in 2026. So, where are these so-called hidden gems that we should all be busy booking our next vacation to? Read on to find out more.

Belluno, Italy
+100% YoY search increase

Located in the foothills of the Dolomites, the Italy town of Belluno is a charming alpine community that combines medieval architecture with breathtaking mountain scenery.

Visitors can wander through cobblestone streets lined with Renaissance buildings, savor authentic northern Italian cuisine, and explore nearby Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park for hiking, cycling, and winter sports.
