Labor Day: the perfect day to catch a sunburn and attempt to forget that you have to go to work with a hangover on Tuesday. Well, we are here to help with some of those special cinematic beauties that take the sting out of working so tirelessly.
Below is a brief collection of movies that make us think of Labor Day and all that it encompasses. Some feature the holiday itself, while others will just have you glad you have the day off from the grind.

Dirty Dancing:
It's the classic tale of Baby being put in a corner and a magnificently majestic Patrick Swayze demanding that just isn't how things are done.
Incidentally, the movie that ends on Labor Day weekend takes place at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia, which we recently reported may or may not have a lake depending on the year.

As we all know, life isn't all Gin Rummy and highfalutin resorts. Thankfully, that's a problem for some time next week.
Office Space:
Sick of seeing "PC Load Letter?" Weary of being asked if you have a bad case of the Mondays?
This is one of the rare movies that just gets us.
While we are all assuredly tickled with our current employment, we have at one point in our life worked at an Initech or known someone who has. This is a love letter for the downtrodden who want nothing more than to walk away from jobs that have a strict guideline on pieces of flair.
Picnic:
William Holden plays a drifter who comes through a town looking for work during the Labor Day picnic.
Instead of finding work, he ends up falling in love.
Wet Hot American Summer:
This movie completely loaded with stars spawned a Netflix series that launched this year.
And what better way to bring summer to a close than a hilarious movie about the last day of camp?
Stand By Me:
A group of friends embarks on an unforgettable journey to see a dead kid. The now classic movie features Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Kiefer Sutherland and a chubby Jerry O'Connell.
The boys take off for a sleepover, returning to their homes just before Labor Day. While short, the journey affords lasting bonds that the narrator continues to cherish well into adulthood.
Labor Day:
Producers went through the trouble of making a movie that features a plot point taking place on Labor Day, garnering a title that is also "Labor Day."
Seeing as how we don't want to leave out the obvious, we give you this romantic look at a convict escaping prison only to fall in love.
