Leave it to the Cotswold region to lay claim to an attraction that is little more than a model village inside an adorable village inside of a quaint town.
It's like we have died and gone to some bucolic heaven where everyone greets one another at the newsstand and the entire village shuts down for afternoon tea.
The Awesomer caught whiff of the latest sign of Bourton-on-the-Water's prized asset, an elaborate and gorgeous model of the town that sits within the town.
It's the kind of meta the Internet adores and the kind of thing whose explanation makes people go cross-eyed.
The following images come from Imgur user Jamieasp who captured the picturesque town model down to its model within a model:

This was news to us, so we did a bit more digging and found a wealth more information at The Model Village, which states, "The Model Village is a one-ninth scale replica of the heart of the beautiful Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, containing all the buildings from the Old Water Mill (now the Car Museum) down to the Old New Inn and the ford."
If you fancy a gander it will run you £3.60 for adults and £2.80 for children, which is about $5.32 and $4.14 respectively.
There are also a couple of videos showing off the splendor on YouTube:
And here's a brief look at the actual village:
On a fairly related note, here is what it would look like if Simon Pegg and Timothy Dalton fought vigorously amid a quintessentially adorable model village (some language NSFW):
Now you hardly need a miniature attraction to visit any part of the Cotswold landscape. The promise of the famed walls and the ridiculously marvelous countryside really should be enough.
It's as if the very definition of serenity had been etched out of the ground. In that way, a novel model with a miniature within a miniature is the perfect way to cap off a trip to this part of England.
It's kind of like the world's wonder of quaint.
