For the first time, Colonial Williamsburg will allow visitors to spend the night in the haunted colonial houses in the region.
According to FoxNews.com, officials from Colonial Williamsburg will theme each colonial house for Halloween and will reveal details about the haunted history of the structures to put a scare into guests.
Not only do the historic homes feature period reproductions like canopy beds and crackling fires, but they also have a long history of reported paranormal activity including moving furniture, ghostly figures and unexplained sounds.

The historic homes have been the sites of ghostly anomalies and feature cold spots, scents of pipe tobacco, murmuring voices and other haunted incidents steeped in history. Prices to rent one of the haunted colonial houses start at $216 per night based on double occupancy, and include all-access passes to the multiple Halloween events.
Some of the other Halloween events during the holiday weekend - Oct. 28 through 31 - at Colonial Williamsburg include haunted houses (the "scared by people in costume" type), dances in the square, screenings of classic horror films and the "Curse of the Sea Witch" events.
