KFC, a company whose very mission seems to test the laws of decorum and common sense, will soon offer a coffee cup you can eat in the United Kingdom.
We imagine the next step is creating tables on which you can eat and then subsequently eat.
Metro's Alison Lynch reports on the latest International innovation for Colonel Sander's maniacal minions. Simply, it's a coffee cup you can eat, because sipping calories takes the kind of patience we just don't have.
Lynch writes, "The 'Scoff-ee Cup' is made from biscuit, wrapped in sugar paper and lined with a layer of glorious white chocolate. It keeps the coffee hot and the cup crispy."
OK, we submit. We want one, or three.
Here's a brief look at what we are talking about thanks to Twitter:
Now there is no need to dunk your biscuit into your piping hot beverage, instead dunking your beverage into your biscuit.
The report offers that food scientists The Robin Collective helped with the innovation, also including wonderful aromas that will put a smile on your face. Although we are to understand that's what a bucket of chicken is for.
Lynch does state on the experience, "As the white chocolate layer melts, the biscuit slowly softens, melting in the mouth, but not the hand."
That sounds like drinking your mug of coffee is a race against time, because we would think it would eventually get through the biscuit and to your hands.
Then again, we failed KFC Food 101 in college, so we throw our remaining faith into the crack team they have coming up with this stuff.
Now despite recent news we have covered such as the Double Down Dog and KFC hamburgers, the company isn't just coming up with wacky ideas for silliness' sake.
This is all to commemorate the company's Seattle's Best Coffee coming to restaurants across the nation.
Now the thought of chowing down on a beverage demands quick action, but we all have to wait: "The cups are currently still under development but fingers crossed they'll be available in-store in time for summer."
Now if KFC could somehow make its buckets, sporks, napkins and receipts edible we may just solve the ever-growing issue of garbage. Forget recycling; let's just eat our way to a solution.
