Orlando Eye, you have been conquered and found wanting.
Nik Wallenda, a man who has previously sashayed across the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, decided to go for a morning jaunt atop the Orlando Eye, setting a world record while he was at it.
The walk was broadcast on Wednesday during the "Today" show, where Wallenda began by stepping out atop the giant wheel where he exclaimed, "Wow, look at this beautiful view from here. You can see everything."
From there the famed wire-walker descended down a ladder and came to one of the giant wheel structures where he began walking as the Eye started to rotate.
It's at that moment that our own hands began to sweat:
Now a man of Wallenda's talents can make these things look far easier than they should. But this walk was not without its drama.
Wallenda proclaims, "It's a little windy up here Matt [Lauer] and Savannah [Guthrie], really wet."
Lauer then explained that it had been raining during the morning, which adds that seemingly unnecessary level of danger to an already precarious endeavor that took place 400 feet in the air.
While brief, this short journey was historic as it set the Guinness World Record for anyone daft enough to stroll across the Orlando Eye.
And, as you notice towards the end of the video, Wallenda snapped off a selfie that he later posted to Twitter:
For those of us with far more sane ventures at heart, the Orlando Eye will open for tourists who would like to ride in it rather than walk on it on May 4th.
At that moment you might appreciate just how insane this masterful walk has been.
