In March of 2017, Hyatt's old rewards program (Hyatt Gold Passport) transitioned to a new one designed to help loyalty members maximize their earnings.

World of Hyatt promised to promote important benefits for top-tier rewards members while making it easier than ever for people to earn free nights.

For the most part, The World of Hyatt program has gone over well. Hyatt's new top-tier Globalist status has ushered in a new era of upgrades and special perks for the company's most loyal members. Despite some small changes on the redemption side of the equation, Hyatt properties still offer great value when it comes to redeeming rewards.

Whether you want to get the Hyatt Credit Card from Chase to rack up rewards or simply earn status by staying in Hyatt properties, here are five reasons now is the perfect time to dive in:

Free Nights Starting at 5,000 Points

One of the biggest reasons Hyatt offers great value in its rewards program is the fact that free nights start at just 5,000 points.

This is for Category 1 properties which aren't that plentiful, but the whole program still offers a ton of value. A Category 2 property starts at just 8,000 points per night, and you can score a free night at a Category 5 property starting at just 20,000 points per night.

Considering some other hotel loyalty programs don't offer free nights for less than 15,000 or 20,000 points, World of Hyatt offers excellent starting value for their lower tier properties.

Book All-Inclusive Resorts

Hyatt offers several all-inclusive resorts for both adults-only and for families in Jamaica and Mexico. These properties will set you back just 20,000-25,000 points per night for double occupancy depending on where you stay.

If you like the idea of scoring all your food, drink, entertainment and lodging for one low price, pursuing points in the World of Hyatt program is a smart move.

Transfer Points from Chase

Last but not least, don't forget how easy it is to rack up World of Hyatt points with travel credit cards.

Not only can you sign up for the Hyatt Credit Card from Chase, but you can transfer points from the Chase Ultimate Rewards program to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, provided you have a premier Chase travel credit card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

With so many ways to earn points and achieve status with the new World of Hyatt brand, there's no reason to continue sitting on the sidelines.
