Hilton is continuing its expansion in the French mid-market hotel category with two new properties.
The company has signed a deal for a Hilton Garden Inn hotel in a suburb of Paris and a Hampton by Hilton near Toulouse Airport.
The properties will be open by 2019 as part of franchise agreements with Naos Hotel Groupe and NT Hotel Gallery, respectively.
"Both of these new projects support our drive to grow our portfolio in France by introducing new brands at key transport hubs," Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton, said in a statement. "Last year Toulouse Airport received 1.1 million more passengers than in 2016, a record increase, while the Massy train station complex has direct links to Nantes, Lyon, Marseille, Grenoble, Toulouse, and Strasburg. These important hubs will be strong demand drivers for these two quality developments."
The 152-room Hilton Garden Inn Massy will be part of a mixed-use development that also includes residential and retail space and a cinema. Additionally, the property is adjacent to a train station served by France's intercity high-speed rail (TGV). The station also provides access to a direct metro line into central Paris.
The building itself will be a geometric tower designed by famed architect Christian de Portzamparc.
"Hilton Garden Inn Massy will form a focal part of the redevelopment of Massy and we look forward to welcoming guests next summer," said Pascal Lemarchand, CEO of Naos Hôtel Groupe
The Hampton by Hilton at Toulouse Airport meanwhile, will be less than one mile from both the airport terminal and also the Blagnac Shopping Center. The property will include 126-guest rooms, a fitness center, work zones and a grab-and-go food and beverage offering.
"We are pleased to be bringing a Hilton branded hotel to the city of Toulouse for the very first time," Nicolas Andrieu, of NT Hotel Gallery, said in a statement. "As a leading international brand, Hampton by Hilton connects us to an audience of seasoned international air travelers and in particular a loyalty base of more than 71 million Hilton Honors guests. We look forward to welcoming these visitors to Toulouse."
Hilton already has nine hotels in France under three brands. It is set to more than double its presence in the market with a pipeline of 14 properties.
This year alone Hilton is due to introduce two brands with the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Bordeaux Centre Gare and Hampton by Hilton Paris Clichy. Both hotels will be operated by Naos Hôtel Groupe.
