It's late. Your flight is delayed. All you want is a hot shower and comfortable bed.

But where can you find a roll-in shower that meets your needs and a staff that sees you, not your disability?

Whether you're fighting your way out of the scenario listed above or you're in the early stages of planning a trip overseas, here's a helpful list to propel yourself headlong into your next adventure.

Sheraton Grand (Phoenix, Arizona) 8.2 brettscore

The largest hotel in the Valley of the Sun, the Sheraton Grand has pretty much everything you need in terms of accessibility. Valet parking makes life easy if arriving by car.

This property also shines when it comes to its roll-in showers. The benches are secure, the controls are within reach and the showers drain exceptionally well. That's not as common as the uninitiated may think.

The Dorchester (London, England) 9.1 brettscore

An iconic hotel located in the heart of bustling London, The Dorchester's team members provide excellent customer service.

My guest room was spacious: Maneuvering my manual chair in the room was a piece of cake. The shower seat was narrow but very sturdy. The Dorchester is magnificent but, be warned, excellence has a price.

Hampton Inn Tempe ASU (Tempe, Arizona) 9.7 brettscore

This moderately priced gem is located near Arizona State University in Tempe. More importantly, this property is fantastic in terms of accessibility.

From the convenient parking to the spacious guest rooms and roll-in showers, this hotel is one of the most accessible I've ever reviewed. If you're heading to metro Phoenix and don't want to break the bank, this is an outstanding option.

Intercontinental Dublin (Dublin, Ireland) 6.7 brettscore

Spacious guest rooms and an accommodating staff made this a great place to stay during a 2015 business trip to Ireland. The main dining area had plenty of space down the aisles making it easy to maneuver, even when the restaurant was crowded.

Moreover, few things beat coming in from the unrelenting Dublin rain and warming up at the hotel bar with some quality Irish whiskey.

Hyatt Times Square (New York, New York) 9.4 brettscore

The Hyatt Times Square is too good not to include on this list. Located amid the hustle and bustle of Times Square, this property is an accessible oasis in the city that never sleeps.

It starts with the very friendly doormen and continues throughout the spacious lobby. The roll-in showers are excellent as are the other accessibility features of the guest room, including perfect furniture placement.
