Sandals Resorts International (SRI) is known for operating some of the most luxurious and feature-rich all-inclusive properties in the Caribbean. It's reasonable to say Sandals' emphasis on high quality accommodations, facilities and services have elevated the all-inclusive resort category.
Still, the company has created something truly special at its Sandals La Source Grenada Resort & Spa. Nearly everything associated with the 17-acre property can be described in superlatives. Sandals La Source is located on a lush green hillside that overlooks Grenada's Pink Gin Beach.
The beach's white sands and deep blue Caribbean Sea waters stretch for miles, extending across the coastline to the capital of St. George's, which is visible from almost every one of the beach's lounge chairs.
The 225-room property features beautifully landscaped grounds, with magnificent accommodations equipped with circular stone soaking tubs and terraced balconies with infinity pools. The adults-only property also features a strong emphasis on attentive guest services, highlighted by the butler service available in several room categories and the resort's Club Sandals guest program.
The adults-only resort is also the first in Sandals' collection to operate a steakhouse restaurant, Butch's Chophouse, which is named after company chairman Gordon "Butch" Stewart. In fact Sandals LaSource offers nine individual dining options. "It's all part of our Discovery Dining program, introduced to ensure the quality and authenticity of dining at Sandals," said Adam Stewart.

In opening the new Grenada property, SRI has resurrected a once-shuttered property. The former La Source Resort closed in October 2012, yet in its brief time left an impression of quality and distinction to such a degree that SRI has incorporated the La Source name into the new resort.
One year later, Sandals reached an agreement with Grenada's government to re-open the resort, to the delight of officials who viewed the SRI brand as a significant step forward in Grenada's effort to attract more travelers from North America.
"This represents the most magnificent architecture we have ever created made possible by the cooperation and commitment of the government and people of Grenada," said Gordon "Butch" Stewart, SRI's chairman, at the resort's pre-opening ceremony. "This resort is a model for our projects in Antigua and Barbados and sets a new standard for the luxury all-inclusive vacation experience."
"This project will expand tourism all across the country," said Keith Mitchell, Grenada's prime minister.
Sandals La Source was intended from the very beginning to be a property aimed at upscale travelers, according to Adam Stewart, SRI's CEO. "We have made serious investments to court the well-traveled luxury vacationer who may not have considered an all-inclusive resort before," he said.
"Sandals La Source Grenada Resort & Spa reflects this best. In terms of setting, Sandals La Source is located on the unspoiled island of Grenada and this is no accident," he said. "This property is considerate of a luxury traveler who wants a fabulous destination, not far from the airport that sits on an amazing beach."
The property offers a variety of elements intended to please experienced, upscale travelers including "oceanfront rooms where guests may literally step out of their suites and onto the white sand," said Adam Stewart.
Sandals La Source also features "Extravagant suites with butler service, stand-up showers, freestanding claw-footed bathtubs, expansive living rooms, dressing rooms, and private infinity-edge plunge pools on balconies high above the property," said Adam Stewart.
