The new Island Tower addition at Disney’s
Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is scheduled to open on December 17, but the
company is offering a first look inside the property.
The 10-story tower will feature various room types, each
filled with original artwork inspired by the Polynesian Islands, wayfinding and
natural elements, as well as custom pieces inspired by the Walt Disney
Animation Studios film Moana.
Every style of group staying at the property will be treated
like royalty, with the bright and airy duo studios offering the perfect retreat
for two, and deluxe studios providing amenities for groups of four people,
including dishwashers, kitchenettes and sitting areas.
Disney's new Island Tower will offer one- or two-bedroom
villas for families sleeping up to five and nine people, respectively. The
spaces will feature kitchens with full-size appliances, a dining area, a washer
and dryer, and outdoor patio space.
In addition, the Disney Vacation Club will introduce a new
room type in Island Tower: two-bedroom penthouse villas. The accommodations
will sleep up to eight and boast a living room and views of the Seven Seas
Lagoon and Magic Kingdom Park from a patio balcony.
The Island Tower also features sustainable design, including
the first-ever dishwashers in its studios. These appliances contribute to
Disney’s goal of minimizing waste by reducing the need for plastic utensils and
single-use dishware.
Bookings for the upcoming property will open to the general
public on June 6.
