Summer is on its way and anticipation for those long-awaited warm-weather escapes is running high among U.S. travelers. Of course, no vacation can be fully enjoyed when you’re forced to leave one or more of the family behind.

And, these days, that definition increasingly includes family members with fur. This is why more and more people are bringing their pets along on their travels and seeking out accommodations that will cater to the four-legged members of their party.

If you’re among the many pet parents who can’t bear the thought of putting Fluffy or Fido in a boarding facility or, best case scenario, hiring to petsitter to stay with them while you’re away, you’ll be pleased to know that there are plenty of hotels and resorts that are prepared to accept animal guests.

To make your search a bit easier, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most desirable U.S. hotel and resort properties that roll out the red carpet for our canine brethren.
