A suspected terrorist with a pipe bomb strapped to his body set off the explosive device Monday morning at the Eighth Avenue Port Authority bus terminal subway station in New York City.
According to The Associated Press, the man entered the subway station and detonated the device inside the passageway to the N, Q and R trains at around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
As a result of the explosion, the suspected terrorist suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested on the scene. He was then transported to Bellevue Hospital, according to anonymous sources speaking to the New York Post.

Another traveler standing on the platform at the time of the explosion reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the AP.
Shortly after the initial distress call was sent out, emergency personnel from around the city descended on the terminal. Port Authority representatives said the flood of police activity has forced the temporary closure of the bus terminal subway station.
