A woman who suffered a medical emergency while in the bathroom of an American Airlines flight Monday died after she was taken off the plane on a stretcher.
According to DallasNews.com, 48-year-old Theresa Hines was on American Airlines Flight 2423 from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport when crew members discovered her in the bathroom in medical distress.
Flight attendants found medical professionals among the passengers, who attempted to help the woman as the plane prepared to land. Once the aircraft touched down in Minnesota, paramedics boarded the flight and rushed Hines off in an attempt to resuscitate her, but they were unsuccessful.

"We are deeply saddened by this event and our thoughts and prayers go out to our passenger's loved ones," an American Airlines spokesperson said in a statement. "We're grateful for the response of our highly trained flight attendants and our customers who assisted our passenger until first responders arrived."
Previous reports regarding the incident indicated Hines was naked and dragged off the plane, but officials from American Airlines said that was incorrect. Minneapolis airport spokesman Pat Hogan said the woman was partially clothed, but paramedics hurried her off the plane on a stretcher in order to save her life.
While passengers were kept onboard the plane, medical personnel attempted for an hour to revive Hines on the jet bridge, but she was pronounced dead.
Hogan defended the actions of the paramedics, who he said worked tirelessly to save the woman's life.
