This summer, guests aboard an AMADEUS River Cruises sailing will be joined by a very special guest.
Elisabeth von Trapp will join the line’s “Classical Danube” itinerary in late July aboard the AMADEUS Imperial. She is the granddaughter of Captain and Maria von Trapp, whose family story inspired “The Sound of Music.”
Von Trapp will lead a walking tour of Salzburg, where the family’s story was set, and then board the ship and continue on for the rest of the sailing.
“As a dual Austrian-American citizen and certified tour guide, it’s a joy to welcome guests to Salzburg and share a side of Austria that feels both personal and timeless,” says Von Trapp. “This is a journey that sings with history.”
The sailing begins July 24 in Passau. Guests will have a chance to visit Linz, Vienna, Bratislava and other destinations before disembarking in Budapest on July 31.
Guests who book by May 9 and use code MUSIC2025 will save $500 off per person in suites and $250 off per person in all other stateroom categories.
