Arizona: Slaughterhouse Canyon
4/51While it's officially known as Luana's Canyon, the locals call it "Slaughterhouse". How did it get its ghastly nickname? Well, legend has it that a family used to live here during the days of the Old West, subsisting off what the father could dig up in the surrounding hills. One day, he never returned from a foraging trip and the family descended into a hunger-fueled madness. It is said that if you stop by the canyon at night, you can still hear their screams.
