Delta is changing its wine program this fall, adding 17 new high-quality wines to its in-flight rotational menu, available in all Main Cabin and higher fare classes.
The expanded wine list is created in partnership with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson.
“A good wine makes good food taste even better,” said Robinson. “That’s especially true at altitude where you don't have as much moisture and aroma concentration; wines with vibrant acidity and punchy fruit and aromatics, keep your taste buds active, and help bring out the flavors of food.”
Delta One customers will be offered the largest number of premium wines, including a first-ever year-round rosé. Additionally, their menu will consist of two red wines, two white wines, champagne and port. First Class customers will have one white and one red wine option.
Some wines that will be featured in Delta’s rotation beginning this autumn include the Famille Perrin Chateauneuf-du-Pape, an organic red wine produced by a five-generation family winery or the Bodegas Ontañón Tempranillo Blanco, a Spanish Rioja produced by a carbon neutral winery.
“While cultivating a list of delicious wines was paramount, Delta’s criteria in sourcing program partners went far beyond a wine’s finish,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, S.V.P of In-flight Service. “The final selections represent brands that share Delta’s values—brands that reflect the diverse community of the winegrowing world and lead their industry in sustainability practices.”
