Cruise lines are breaking records left and right this wave season—including Cunard, which announced today that January bookings were the highest the cruise line has seen in a decade.
Bookings were up 25 percent compared to the previous record-holder of the last 10 years. Cunard says demand is strong for both 2024 and future sailings.
"As we prepare to navigate what is set to be a truly ground-breaking year for Cunard, it has been fantastic to have such a strong start to the year,” says Katie McAlister, Cunard’s president. “The appeal of Cunard is strong for guests across the world and is particularly strong for sailings across Europe on our new ship Queen Anne."
Queen Anne is set to debut in May. The 2,996-guest vessel will offer 50 shore excursions in 60 ports during its first year on the water, visiting ports in the Canary Islands, Western Europe, Norway and other destinations. The 184-year-old cruise company is also rolling out a variety of new shows and entertainment options aboard its vessels this year.
Cunard is far from the only line seeing success so far in 2024. Princess Cruises notched a record number of Alaska bookings in January, while Holland America Line set a new single-day sales record on January 16.
Royal Caribbean Group also touted its strong wave season performance in a recent update to investors.
