Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Treasure, has officially arrived at Port Canaveral near Orlando.
The 4,000-guest vessel sailed to Florida this week from Eemshaven, Netherlands. Along the way, it made an unexpected stop to rescue multiple people from a sinking catamaran off the coast of Bermuda.
From Port Canaveral, the ship will next head to New York City for its christening ceremony on November 19. The event will be live-streamed on the Disney Parks Blog starting at 8 p.m. EST.
From New York, the ship will sail back to Florida. Disney Treasure is scheduled to make its maiden voyage on December 21, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. From there, it will offer 7-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.
Disney Cruise Line also announced that the godparents of the new ship will be the more than 200,000 Walt Disney Company cast, crew, Imagineers and employees around the world.

This is our way of paying tribute to the dreamers and doers who continue to tell our stories in the most compelling and innovative ways.”
The ship’s design features beloved Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars characters, stories and references, like the Broadway-stye production “Disney The Tale of Moana” and a theatrical diing experience inspired by “Coco.”
Disney Cruise Line is also debuting Treasure Tomorrow, a new initiative to support the port cities the company visits. For example, in Brevard County, Disney Cruise Line is sponsoring career exploration programs in partnership with the Brevard Schools Foundation.
