On Wednesday, Princess Cruises announced the designs and key features for its newest ship, the Majestic Princess.
Scheduled to depart for its maiden voyage on April 4, Majestic Princess will take part in a five-day Adriatic Sea roundtrip cruise from Rome with stops in Kotor, Montenegro, and Corfu, Greece.
After the Majestic Princess' inaugural trip, the ship will tour Europe on seven-, 14-, 21- and 28-day cruises departing from Rome, Barcelona or Athens. Eventually, the ship will make its way to Shanghai, China, where it will be stationed permanently. The first voyage from its new home port will be July 11, 2017, with destinations in Japan and Korea.

"Over the past 50 years, we have developed a mastery of global travel, delivering a truly international cruise vacation experience to our guests," Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz said in a statement. "With the debut of Majestic Princess, first in Europe and then in China, we invite guests to indulge in a world-class experience that allows them to completely relax, unwind and ultimately 'come back new.'"
The Majestic Princess ship has gained mainstream attention thanks in part to a wide variety of features and experiences. Firstly, the cuisine on the vessel will be a mix of the top foods in the world, prepared by chefs from France, Italy, the United States, Australia, China and Japan.
In addition, the ship will also feature two new specialty restaurants including "Harmony" and "Le Bistrot," both of which will offer specialty dishes and cater to the needs of each individual passenger.

As for the design of the ship, the Majestic Princess presents a sophisticated and stylish experience that takes elements from all over the world. Add in the fact that the design details carrying over into each stateroom-80 percent of the rooms also include a private balcony-and travelers will be cruising in the lap of luxury.
Entertainment aboard the ship will also be over the top, as the ship will feature full musical shows, the Movies Under the Stars activity, the SeaView Bar, The Shops of Princess, The Piazza Atrium and Water Color Fantasy, a cruise-industry first presenting a water and light show at sea.
