Seabourn's style continually sets new standards in luxury. And, for those with the luxury of time, there's no better fit than a world cruise. Seabourn's 2020 World Cruise will be one for the record books.
The 146-day journey of a lifetime begins aboard Seabourn Sojourn on January 4, 2020. The cruise calls on 36 countries and 62 ports before arriving in San Francisco on May 28, 2020.
Along the way, the 2020 World Cruise will visit the Caribbean, Africa, India, Arabia, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Australia, the South Pacific and Hawaii.
Setting a course from Miami to the Caribbean, Seabourn Sojourn will then head along the northern coast of South America. She'll cross the Atlantic and move southward along the African coast from Dakar.
Seabourn Sojourn then rounds the tip of Africa and proceeds back up again to Mombasa. She'll then head across the Indian Ocean to southern Asia. After cruising through Southeast Asia, the ship will travel along Australia's northern edge eastward to Sydney. The cruise winds up with a northeastern journey to San Francisco, calling at several Pacific islands, including Hawaii.
With so much to take in, extra time in ports is a must. Seabourn's 2020 World Cruise includes sixteen overnights, plus 18 late evening stays. And, guests can expect several exclusive events during the journey, as well.
Overnight ports include Dakar, Senegal, with its UNESCO World Heritage Site capital of Saint-Louis. Two overnights and three days in Mombasa, Kenya give guests the chance to explore colorful markets, the 16th-century Portuguese Fort Jesus (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
In Southeast Asia, the Seabourn Sojourn sails up the Saigon River into the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Guests overnight in Vietnam's former French colonial capital. Excursions include a marketplace "Shopping with the Chef" tour and a full-day river tour along the Mekong Delta.
In Australia, Seabourn Sojourn cruises along the Great Barrier Reef to Cairns, Queensland. An overnight and two days in port offer time to explore one of the world's most spectacular marine ecosystems. Nearly, the primeval Daintree Rainforest National Park beckons. Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In fact, Seabourn's 2020 World Cruise is a gateway to more than 20 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Guests interested in more in-depth exploration should consider mid-voyage overland excursions. They'll disembark in one port and rejoin the ship at another. In between comes the chance to visit safari parks and game reserves in Kenya and South Africa, India's Taj Mahal and UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Cambodia and Australia.
Longer pre-and post-cruise Seabourn Journeys excursions are available in select destinations, as well. And, for those unable to join the entire cruise, Seabourn offers shorter segments of 30 to 116 days.
